Anyone who cooks for the public has to have a license, just like a restaurant, have their kitchen inspected by the health inspector and go to a safe food handleing class once a year.
I love to cook, and I have never 'killed' anyone with my cookin, but there is no way my kitchen would pass inspection. I have a dog, birds, wear my hair down, do not wear gloves.
Your best bet would be to make friends with 6 other people who feel the way you do, and rotate cooking for each other. That way, you cook once a week, but eat home cooked every night :)
