Tips to get rid of heartburn

    Many people try to cope with heartburn with the help of baking soda. Soda helps to get rid of the pain only for a while. If constantly used soda affects the mucous coat of stomach, violates the acid-base balance and can assist with disease progress. Prolonged heartburn can cause serious complications and even precancerous condition.
    People, who rarely suffer from heartburn, can remove the pain attack after drinking half a glass of alkaline non-carbonated water or milk. Decoctions of chamomile, flax seeds are of great help too. Do not use mint as it has an overall relaxing effect and an effect on the lower valve (sphincter) of the esophagus, which should keep the acid in the stomach and protect the esophagus even when people overeat. By the way, heartburn caused by simple acid reflux usually increases after a meal. If heartburn is a frequent problem keep antacid tablets handy. Though they have no side effects, they still should not be taken more than a month.
