  Self Defense Training business.

  Business Overview

Self-defense training is a booming multimillion dollar industry in North America, and this business opportunity will appeal to anyone with a military or police service training background. Once again, providing that you are qualified to teach self-defense, an excellent income can be earned by doing just that. The classes can be conducted in a one-on-one basis at clients' locations, or alternately you can offer the training classes in conjunction with a community center, school, or fitness center. Also, do not overlook the possibility of marketing the classes directly to medium- and large-sized corporations. If you choose this route, you can develop a complete self-defense and personal safety program for your client's employees and even conduct the classes at the corporate location during nonbusiness or office hours. Expanding the business is as easy as hiring other qualified instructors to conduct the classes, and you can even add additional types of instruction courses, such as first aid, wilderness survival, and river rescue to your roster. Unfortunately, women are often the target of attacks and violent crime, so be sure to pay extra attention to marketing the classes to this segment of the population. Currently fees for this type of specialized training are in the range of $25 to $40 per hour taught on a one-on-one basis, and approximately $100 for a one-to-two hour course taught in group format.
