The underwater heart rate monitor will work without chest straps, using instead an infrared sensor attached to the earlobe and capillary activity to measure heartbeat.
The heart rate monitor will be attached to the strap of the swimmer's goggles, where it will monitor the heart beat and communicate the rate by a voice transmitted by bone conduction technology. The rate will be communicated as the swimmer moves, and will be set to deliver the information from every 10 seconds to once every 5 minutes. It will also be set to give updates based on heart fluctuations.
