Singing in the shower will get a bit easier with a shower head featuring an integrated wireless, waterproof speaker. The shower head speaker will communicate with any Wi-Fi enabled music player up to 39 feet away. The speaker will be magnetically attached to the shower head, and will be easily removed for recharging or for use at other, potentially damp places. The shower head will be powered by a lithium-ion battery, which can last up to seven hours and will be recharged by the...

The Aeroball concept takes air-purifying devices to a new level, filtering the air in the home with small glowing balls that float around the room. The Aeroballs float around the room using helium, where they filter and add fragrance to the air in the room and sink to the ground when they need re-charging. The balls also absorb light during the day, allowing them to create a soft illumination at night that adds to the over-all sensory experience.

The bladeless ceiling fan creates an indoor breeze that's smoother and quieter--and safer for cats. The fan features a stack of spinning discs that take advantage of the science of laminar flow to move air throughout the room. The air is directed around the room in a 360° horizontal flow, moving with a smooth, uninterrupted stream and mixing the air in the room to eliminate hot or cold spots.

The idea is to develop a kit that will harness solar energy to power their shades. The kit will include a photovoltaic panel, harness connector, Ni-MH battery, and battery tube. The solar panel will be a foot long by an inch and a half wide, will be mounted inside the window, and will harvest enough energy to power the shades even in low-sun locations.

A sleek new hybrid lighting design will use both natural light and solar powered LED's to light interior spaces. The light will be created to take advantage of natural sunlight and the potentials of fiber optic cables. The light will consist of a parabolic collector lens installed on the roof, which will focus the light through UV and infrared filters and on through a fiber optic cable to the hemispherical bottom lens. LED lights under the shade will provide light after the sun...

The newly improved radiator booster will increase the efficiency of wall mounted radiators, directing the heat back out into the room. The booster will be designed to turn on when the radiator reaches a temperature over 86F, and it will cost under a dollar a year to run. Since it will distribute the heat out into the room, the radiator booster should help to encourage lower thermostat settings.

The idea is to create solar window shade that will harvest the sun during the day and use it to power its OLEDs at night. The shades will be made of a semi-translucent, flexible fabric that will allow the sunlight to gently seep in. The integrated solar cells will block the sun while harnessing its energy, which will power the leaf-shaped OLED's. A central cord will control the blind, allowing it to be opened, and the whole shade can be easily rolled up for storage.

Contemporary light bulbs may soon be replaced with flexible sheets of glowing LEDS. The LED sheets will be produced by slicing a gallium nitride wafer to create millions of tiny LEDs. The LEDs will be mixed with binders and resins to form a sort of 'ink', which will be then deposited over a large surface using a standard screen printer. A layer of silver ink will provide electrical contact and a layer of phosphors will be used to change the color of the LED light. The LED...

The idea is to create a USB charging device that will flip open to draw power from electrical outlets already fully occupied. The device will open to extend a flat conductive "power tab", which will work via its two holes. The prongs of one of the plugs that will be occupying the outlet will be run through the holes and then plugged back into the outlet. The power tab will draw enough energy to charge a mobile device, sending 1 amp through the USB cable. A flat "power tab"...

The paper thin, mercury free OLED lights will be the most energy efficient kitchen lights. It is difficult to perfect white lights that are powerful enough to be suitable for kitchen use, but the OLED lights are supposed to be as bright as the typical compact fluorescent. They will also be incredibly thin and have a life span of more than 12,000 hours. The system efficiency of 71 lumens per watt will be greater than the standard requirement for undercabinet lighting, and the lights...
