My idea is to create a mobile device which can be used by deaf and hearing-impaired people. I suggest creating a tool which would be integrated to any high-end mobile phone with a video camera. The tool would be based on motion detection technology, i.e. it would be possible to identify American Sign Language (ASL) and transmit video images over cell networks in the US.

It would be cool if our mobile phone or PDA beeped when there was our friend nearby. It seems to be possible using Bluetooth technology.

When a teenager would rather downgrade to a less damage-prone cell phone than her iPhone, it gets me thinking. Why would a person rather deal with a feature-deficient version of a device?
