This is a very simple concept but I'm amazed that I haven't seen it yet. Why can't we have smart cards for audio and visual home equipment? Why not a smart card activated hi-fi? It won't turn on without the card and won't turn off unless you remove the card... Or what about the removeable fascia that was used for a car stereo? why not have a fascia that operates both your home and car stereo? I prefer the smart card idea though. If you lose it all you have to do is bring your receipt to...

When we purchase Hardware that plays electronic Media of any kind, the manufacturer (or distributor/retailer) of the Hardware will have to encode the purchaser's PassKey (Last Name, SSN, etc.) into the Player. When digital media is purchased, the same will happen...the purchaser's PassKey will be encoded into the electronic Media. (Of course they may use their wife's/Friend's/Boss's PassKey if it is a gift.) The Player will only play the media if the passkeys match. Of course there...

With the increase in popularity of the mp3 players, someone should design a car stereo that instead of a cd player or cassette deck, should be a sort of docking station for the mp3 player. You would no longer need to burn them to cd to play in the car. Just insert your mp3 player in the in dash unit and listen.

Ever heard a song on the radio and don't know what it's called. All the new car radios and hi fi systems should come with a LCD display capable of picking up a text signal, displaying the current song playing, or what this current segment title is, they could even have advertising, or upcoming events etc. Obviously the radio station would be in charge of what is being displayed. I believe though displaying the song title would be the most useful use, for it will increase the music...

You've all seen the clocks that project the time onto the ceiling right? Well I'd like my CD player to project the track info onto the ceiling so I can lie on the couch or bed and select my favourite tracks without having to get up to fetch the CD holder and read the info. Would be especially useful with a multi CD player.

Had speaker covers that were clawed by a cat. Think it should be cat claw proof, better yet, cat scratcher.

Ever wanted to take a shower/bath and have a CD player that can be submerged in water and not break? I was taking a shower when i got this crazy idea of listening to music in the shower. I already know there's a radio that does that why not a CD player? I thought of that because sometimes the radio has songs that you don't like and get bored of it. It would be great to do that! If it is possible i know i wouldn't get bored in the shower/bath at home.

I am doing a research on associations between sound and imagery and thinking of doing a painting that changes its graphic/image/collage according to music that it is introduced to. Not to be confused with sonique visualisations, this product will react fairly accurately and logical, according to synaesthetic-based researches and associations. Would you buy this idea/painting? Would love to see one in my living room

Can someone do me a favor and develop a discman with a stronger exterior or some sort of reinforcement casing for discmen to greatly reduce the damage done to discmen when dropped or crushed? I go through a discman about every one and a half months because they simply fall apart under pressure due to usage. I'm not talking about skip protection, I'm talking about the top physically detatching itself from the bottom and damaging connections. If such a thing exists, please notify me.

I remember the good old times --- as if it was so long ago lol --- when car CD Player was way too expensive for me (high school student back then) to purchase. It was the biggest pain, considering the fact that most of my new music was on CD's. That's why, when I wanted to listen to some music from a CD while I was driving, I had only two options either copy the CD on a tape or use one of those cheap portable CD Players with a cassette player adapter. This situation is similar to what...
