I am tired of buying DVDs and piling them. With mega storage drives available, maybe someone should compress about 200 movies and market them. Select and create your own DVD library, something like MP3 songs on a single player. With a user interface to choose movies and plug into any TV, you have your own library and storage is easy.

I have a son who constantly leaves the TV on when leaving the room. Often it can be on for an hour or more without anyone watching. I propose an infrared/motion sensor similar to burglar alarms be built into the TV to determine whether anyone is watching. If nobody is in the room for more than 2 minutes (or other specified time), the screen drops out (in the same fashion as computer monitors go into power saving mode). The sound remains on but drops out a little later. Finally, the TV goes...

Well... there's CRT monitors, LCD's, now Plasma. I researched on how Plasma screens work, and it says there that each pixel is made of 3 subpixels, with each having the primary colours. Each subpixel is like a small neon light. It has this really small tube filled with neon or xenon, and one side, the glass tube is coated with colourful phosphour that emits visible light when the UV light from the neon gas hits it. Anyways... well i thought that instead of having these thousands of tubes...

We all know that DVDs work just like a record player except it reads holes or bumps and raised areas with a laser instead of a record needle. If we had a disc and laser reading variations of vibrations of electricity, we then would have unlimited or extremely large amounts of space to put information of movies or computer data on. If the disc was reading electrical signals along with bumps AND dips in grooves we would have two, or more, forms of readable info making it hold more info. It...

A childs TV Remote Control that can be programmed with specific TV channels i.e All the childrens channels for the child's age group. The remote control has many buttons but they all do only one thing - they cycle through the pre-programmed list of channels.

I bet almost everyone must have had trouble finding a misplaced remote control. My idea is to have a remote control (universal) fitted on the armrest of the sofa so that it will never be misplaced.

A system that allows you to phone home to your video recorder to tape television programs you may have forgotten to time or program in. Phone menu allows you to pick what channel you want and start recording... that is how simple it needs to be... anymore complicated than that and you lose most of the public who cannot even program their videos in the first place. Especially a good idea for new generation dvd recorders.

I was just thinking about the future of Flat Screen TV's. Understanding that more screens are being made out of plastic emulsions gave me an interesting idea. Most of us understand the concept of a LCD clock that you see through. Well if you filled the clock with color dots this would create a very thin color TV. About the size and weight of two pieces of paper. The problem is it would have to work one-hundred percent of the time. Otherwise you would begin to see through the screen. ...

What about making Flat Screen TV's flatter by putting all of the unessacary components inside another box, that could be hidden somewhere, and then the TV would just be speakers, the lcd screen and the buttons, and it will have wires running to the other box that does all that other stuff or it could be wireless, either way would be good.

I wonder why so many ideas are about inventing the perfect TV... Anyway, here's another one. You probably know those postcards where you can flip the card and suddenly you see a different image. I've also seem money machines where the screen will turn black when you're standing just a few degrees away from the center of the screen. Why not combine both, and invent a TV screen that will show two or even three different programs depending on your viewing angle? Ever noticed that...
