The idea is to create a camera clip which will allow photographers to access their cameras quickly and easily. The clip will secure the camera to the user's belt by a plate attached to the bottom of the camera. The camera will be released by quick release button, and a twist lock will be engaged to prevent accidental release. The clip plate will be also compatible with any Arca-Swiss style tripod head.

The underwater heart rate monitor will work without chest straps, using instead an infrared sensor attached to the earlobe and capillary activity to measure heartbeat. The heart rate monitor will be attached to the strap of the swimmer's goggles, where it will monitor the heart beat and communicate the rate by a voice transmitted by bone conduction technology. The rate will be communicated as the swimmer moves, and will be set to deliver the information from every 10 seconds to...

Why not create 'air conditioned' clothing as a way to deal with the restrictions on electricity during the summer heat? It is possible to develop jackets and shirts, as well as cushions and mattresses, with built in fans. The jackets will include two electric fans powered by a lithium ion battery pack. The fans will draw the air in at up to 20 liters per second, circulating it through the jacket where it will dry off sweat and evacuate through the collar and cuffs.

The idea is to develop a new ECG detecting steering wheel. The steering wheel's sensors will detect abnormalities in the driver's heart rhythm, alerting the driver through a display monitor. The system will include a monitor on the in-car navigation system that will display a chart of the driver's heartbeat and electrocardiogram, allowing the driver to keep constant tabs on their heart rhythm.

The idea is to create a device to project a laser image onto the road in order to make drivers more aware of bicyclists. The device is meant to be mounted on the handlebars of a bike, where it will project a bright green bicycle symbol on the road in front of the cyclist. The symbol will be visible by day or night, and will shine steadily as well as flashing off and on.

Why not develop a new lithium-ion battery able to store more energy than its predecessors without overheating? The battery will use a graphite current collector and imide salt in the electrolyte of the battery, which will increase the life of the battery as well as allowing it to withstand high temperatures. The battery will have an energy density of 225 watt hours per kilogram; 50 percent higher than the lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.

Why not give a possibility to users to re-arrange the keyboard to suit their needs at the time? The user could change the color of the keys, placement of the keys, and even which keys are to be displayed on the keyboard, according to need. Different language layouts or optimization for left or right handed users could also be chosen.

The Paperphone would perform most of the tasks of a typical smartphone with one important difference- it would flexible, and could be interacted with through bending actions. The new 'paper computer' would use a thin film E-Ink display on top of a flexible printed circuit with sensors that would enable it to recognize different bending gestures. Bending a corner would turn the page, and squeezing it into a concave shape would activate the phone systems. A built in Wacom tablet...

Why not develop wave barriers that allow true one way sound and light proofing. The idea involves the use of nonlinear materials that only allow waves to pass through from one direction. Nonlinear materials respond to the attributes of the waves, and stacking these materials in specific arrangements should allow waves from one direction to pass through while blocking waves from other directions. The idea remains theoretical, and no true one way material have been produced...

The idea is to create polymers that could be used to make paint that can heal its own scratches when exposed to UV light. The new polymers are to be using a method known as supramolecular assembly. Polymers made of small molecules will be formed into chains bound by metal ions. When these molecules are exposed to UV light, they will become temporarily unattached, forming a liquid that will fill in the scratches in under a minute. The molecules will reassemble and resolidify once...
