Why not create a dual-cable lever for bicycles to allow riders with one hand to control the front and rear brakes on mountain and cyclocross bikes. The lever will be adjusted to engage both brakes at the same time or one a bit after the other. There will also be the option either to place the lever on the left or right side of the handlebar.

Why not develop a new high tech cast that will use electromyographic (EMG) sensors to monitor recovery by tracking muscle activity around the fracture in real time. The cast will be able to monitor the activity around the fracture and sync the data to a website, allowing the doctor to analyze the patient's progress, suggest exercises, and predict recovery time.

In another step forward toward health monitoring cars, I suggest developing a driver's seat that will take ECG readings through sensors able to take readings even through a fine layer of clothing. The sensors will be able to detect electrical current at a short distance, without needed direct contact. The seat will be able to produce accurate readings 98% of the time for 95% of drivers. Some possible applications for the smart seat will include warning the driver to pull over...

Why not develop a personalized onboard system to monitor chronic disease and personal wellness? The new system will be designed to react to simple voice commands, and will be able to deliver information on environmental aspects affecting allergies or monitor the blood sugar of diabetics through wireless glucose monitors. The system will also recommend alternative routes, suggest a snack, or roll up the windows in case of smog.

Why not create a simple one minute test to determine quickly whether or not an athlete has suffered a concussion? The test will evaluate the athlete's ability to read numbers which are displayed on a series of flashcards. The time it will take for the athlete to respond will be compared to a baseline test. Any coach or doctor will be able to diagnose a concussion confidently if the athlete's response is more than 5 seconds slower. The test will also check for eye movement,...

I want to create a device to prevent fires? It will be a small canister placed inside a wall and connected to an electrical outlet. This device will monitor the temperature of the outlet: in case it reaches 250 degrees (combustion occurs at 426 degrees), the canister will eject special foam that will cool the wires, displace oxygen and insulate the surrounding combustible materials. The foam spilt out of the outlet indicates that a fire has been prevented and that the outlet should...

How about a lotion that blocks cold temperatures from hitting our skin? You rub on the lotion and it keeps you warm :). The lotion will be of great help for people living in very cold climates. One could take it while hiking in the mountains or swimming in cold water without a wet suit. It can be also useful in emergency situations like when the power goes out in the winter and you cannot heat your house.

It would be great to have a TV set that would allow two people in same room to watch different TV programs. My idea is to create a two-sided TV screen for this. It would have separate remotes and possibly speakers inside remote or simple headphone speakers. With such a TV set couples won't need to have extra TV in another room.

My idea is to create a mobile application integrated with a database of public lavatories within a city/country/state/etc. After you define your location the application will return the list of the nearest lavatories. It seems to be very convenient. By the way, the database should be updated on a daily basis.

I want to have an umbrella that changes its color once the rain starts falling on it. The umbrella will start out in black and white but each rain drop will change its color. When the rain stops and the umbrella dries the colorful design will slowly fade back to the primary color. I suppose some dyes which work if water is applied should be used for such an umbrella creation.
