I have an idea to use gold nanoparticles to monitor the bloodstream to find tumor cells that remain after treatment. Polymer coated particles linked to a growth factor peptide instead of an antibody can detect and tag circulating tumor cells in the blood. The tagged tumor cells can then be revealed through laser illumination.

The idea is to create a device which will able to concentrate sunlight to produce high powered steam for the sterilization of medical instruments. Such a device could benefit clinics in impoverished areas around the world. The autoclave is to be created by using a curved mirror to focus sunlight on a steel tube able to boil water and produce high pressure steam. The device will be able to reach 250 F for 30 minutes, which is the standard set by the CDC for utensil sterilization.

The idea is to develop stick-on electronic tattoos to monitor the body's electrical activity in a noninvasive way. The tattoo will be composed of ultra-flexible silicon components arranged in a serpentine shape, which will allow them to bend without breaking, and will be powered by tiny solar cells or a wireless coil. The tattoo will use electrodes to measure the signals produced by muscle and brain activity, and will be used to diagnose sleep apnea or monitor the heartbeat of premature...

Why not use ultrasound to help speed the recovery of broken bones by stimulating bone regeneration through cell vibration. The sound frequency and pulse rate of the ultrasound will be different than that used on pregnant women, but the technology will be the same. The transducer will get a coating of water based gel, and will be then slipped into a strap that will hold it on the break, stimulating cellular activity. The ultrasound therapy is supposed to lower recovery time by...

A newly developed 'smart bandage' will be able to promote the development of blood vessels by guiding them to where they should grow. The bandage will be porous and filled with living cells positioned in channels in a precise pattern. The cells will release growth factors that will encourage vessels to grow in specific locations.

The new glasses will allow the user to change their refractive power, making it easier to provide corrective eyewear to people in developing nations. The inexpensive glasses will consist of a pair of fluid-filled lenses with flexible membranes. The wearer will use a small detachable pump to add or remove fluid from the lenses, adjusting their refraction to suit their need.

The personal amplifier will be the first over-the-counter hearing aid device that will isolate and amplify voices. The amplifier hearing aid will use a signal-processing algorithm to add a subtle high-frequency boost to voices, helping them to stand out without the need to increase volume. The user will also be able retune the device by cupping a hand to the ear, which will cause the mic to sense the echo off the hand and signal the processor to adjust its levels.

Using fish scales to grow artificial bones could cut the production time in half, from up to six months to only three. The bones created from fish collagen will be stronger than current artificial bones and will be able to integrate into bone tissue after implantation more quickly than the current collagen from pig skin. The use of fish scales will also lessen the potential for infection of humans by viruses from pigs. One of the primary goals is to use the fish collagen to...

The new knotless tissue control devices will allow surgeons to stitch and secure tissues without needing to tie knots in the sutures. The devices will be lined with barbs, which will be spaced 1mm apart and form a spiral along length of the string. The barbs will help maintain the tension in the suture while also providing anchor points that will eliminate the need to tie knots, thus allowing surgeons to close wounds more rapidly and reduce the amount of time patients are under...

My idea is to create a device to help people to get rid of stress and tension. The device will take the pulse and then represent a wave on its screen as the pattern of pulse rate. It will also be able to guide a person breathing in order to reduce stress and get relaxed. Such a gadget will be a great alternative to antidepressants which have already made a lot of people addicted.
