The idea is to develop a pair of glasses able to decipher facial expressions and transmit the meaning to the wearer. This might help people suffering from Autism to better relate to others. The glasses will be made up of a tiny camera which will interface with a computer the size of a deck of playing cards. The camera will be able to track and transmit information about 24 points on the face, then send the information to the computer for comparison with a set of well-defined...

I have on more idea which could help to combat obesity. Why not create a system to send electrical impulses to the stomach, causing the patient to feel satisfied faster. The system will consist of an electrical stimulator and a sensor that can detect food in the stomach. The advantages of such a treatment: * It is completely reversible and has less side effects; * The system will be able to record the patient's eating and exercise habits.

The idea is to create a new device which will be small enough to be injected into the eye, where it will be maneuvered to deliver drugs more effectively. The device will be controlled electro-magnetically to the desired location of the eye, where it will then deliver a capsule of medication or remain in place for a long period of time, delivering prolonged treatment. It can then be removed from the eye with a magnetic needle. Such a delivery system could be particularly...

The idea is to create a glucose sensor for diabetes sufferers which will use tear fluid instead of blood. This may soon eliminate the need for finger pricks. The device will be able to take a sample of tear fluid by a painless dab at the corner of the eye. The device's sensor will measure the amount of glucose in the tear sample which is supposed to be very similar to the amount of glucose in blood. My idea is to create mobile application which will help children with autism to develop communication skills. The application will be based on Picture Exchange Communication System, i.e. it will help children to build messages from pictures and send them to each other. It will also contain a vocabulary consisting of words learnt by a child. The vocabulary could be easily updated as well as new pictures could be added to the application.

A new insulin substitute could replace injections with a simple, and less painful, pill. The pill will be based off a 3D molecular map of the insulin's activity. The pill will not be broken down in the stomach, so it will be taken orally. It will also be cheaper and easier to produce and store than conventional insulin, making it well suited for use in developing countries.

Why not take into account bone conduction phenomenon and create a telephone for hearing impaired people? The handset in such a case will have a pulsator which, when placed on specific areas of the head, will send vibrations directly to the speech center of the brain. The phone will also include a light to indicate an incoming call and different volume controls.

A new method of delivering eye medicine through contact lenses could ensure a more controlled and thorough dosing of medication. The contacts will come in two varieties- disposable daily wear and 30 day extended wear. The medication will be released slowly, controlled by drug memory in the lens structure. The lenses could make life more comfortable for patients who have to administer eye medications daily.

It was found that transplanting a mother's stem cells into her fetus could be a treatment for genetic blood diseases before birth. Stem cell transplants could prepare the fetus for a bone-marrow transplant from a tissue matched donor after birth. Standard bone-marrow transplants usually require the recipient to take immunosuppressive drugs for the rest of their life, but a dose of maternal tissue matched donor cells could prime the developing fetus's immature immune system for...

The idea is to create the WiFi and GPS enabled inhalers to record and send data about the location and time of asthma attacks to a central computer, creating geographical records of asthma attacks. The data gathered by the inhaler will have two main benefits. It will enable patients and their doctors to analyze inhaler user patterns, and the location information will help identify areas of asthma attacks. This could lead to a better understanding of asthma triggers as well as an...
