I moved to the city a couple of years ago, and have noticed how clean the roofs always are. No leafs get up there. Further, from every roof there runs a pipe all the way along the edges of the roof, and to the ground in order to make the rain that ends on the roof go to the ground without pouring down on the windows. My idea is simply to put a little mill inside the pipes that go from the roof to the ground, the mill should run a simple generator in order to produce power. - Since the...

I have an idea about pollution that may really stop industries and the gov't from dumping trash in our backyards! There are countless examples of companies dumping their trash, usually on the poor side of town. I think that all companies and individuals should be ranked by how much trash/waste they produce. This could be done by producing trash cans & dumpsters with sensors that count the amount of mass in the container per week. For liquid waste (which many companies dump liberally...

Like any smokeless cigarette you need only slip your standard cigar or cigarette inside a tube with screens at both ends and one end you light while the other snaps shut for inhaling and could come with an optional filtration system to further make a "So called" safer smoke!

This idea is based on very old tried and true principles of physics. Hydroelectric power has been around for a long time. The man who invented the modern world, Nicola Tesla, also invented a very novel turbine. Imagine the average home owner putting a large low slung water tank on top of their house. A 2 inch ID pipe descends 8 feet into a Tesla Turbine. The Tesla Turbine outlet goes into another tank. At the top of the upper tank is a sensor that turns the water valve to open. At a point...

Harnessing the Waste Heat Energy of the Vehicle Engines A very large part of the fuel energy that is consumed by the vehicle engines (and other combustion engines) is wasted in the form of heat which has to be removed perforce by forced cooling. It should be possible to use this heat energy, instead of wasting it, in several innovative ways to add value to the vehicle and increase the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicles by taking over some of the functions which presently need...

Here is my idea in very rough form! Go out to the ocean where it is approx 1 mile deep (but this might work also in a deep lake where it is only 500 feet deep) and put down a metal pipe maybe 30 ft in diameter (also consider only 5' diameter). Pump the water out of it and every 300 to 500 feet have a turbine in the pipe which generates electricity. Let water fall down through the pipe until it gets to the bottom where (and this is either the strength or weakness of my idea)... 1- it...

One major component of air pollution is ozone. A major problem with our atmosphere is the existence of several "holes" in the Ozone Layer. My idea is based on the fact that a toroid, or doughnut-shaped fluid mass is self-sustaining. A good example of this is a smoke ring. Someone puffs smoke through their "Oh" -shaped lips and the ring (toroid) moves through the air without losing its shape or contents. On a larger scale, years ago, cigarettes were advertised from outdoor signs by...

Portable air quality sensors could help people suffering from chronic conditions like asthma and COPD breathe a bit easier by allowing them to check the air condition in their immediate with their smartphones. The system will consist of small air quality sensors that could be carried by the individual or deployed around a particular area. The sensors will be able to measure local concentrations of pollutants, such as carbon monoxide and ozone, and transmit the data wirelessly to...
