Churches are at a loss of how to help the continuing growing numbers of single parents which are increasing on a daily basis. In order to assist single parents, there needs to be education. A seminar could be conducted which would introduce the concept and explain the many needs a single parent encounters. My idea is to have a men's group and women's or youth groups of every participating church "adopt" single parents for one month. The men's group could provide house repair, car repair,...

Here in America we use reusable material bags to be eco-friendly but, I think in the long run we need to produce a thin leather grocery bag that can be treated to be water proof and still be flexable. Just an idea. We get money savings for just bring our own bags too the store to not waste the enviroment.

Add on an optional very small amount of money to Hotel bills. Money would accrue and then be donated to homeless charities to help the homeless in a town/city. Temporary homeless people (hotel customers) would thus help permanently homeless people. Placecards would be placed on hotel beds explaining that a voluntary contribution of 50p or smaller would be added to their billl at the end of their stay. A similar notice would be placed at Reception. Each notice would have to be in...

Lots of old ladies alone in their apartments or houses feel vulnerable and they are. Imagine maybe they could feel more secure if.... On the back of their front foor is a device that - if someone makes a commotion at the door, loud knocking or pushing - triggers a tape recordering of a large dog growling ferociously. Could help, if just outside the door on the porch or the landing there was a pretty large, empty of course, dog food bowl with MAX written on the side.

If everyone wore name tags when they went out of their house, then maybe we would be more friendly to each other. Then there would be no reason not to say "hi Bob" when walking down the street. Or "hey Sara" how's it going, while you are in the elevator.

How about opening the big holidays for sponsorship? (After all, every event has a sponsor these days!) "Independence Day" would then be called "Microsoft Day", "Thanksgiving" could be named "Wal-Mart Holidays", and so on. The holidays would be auctioned once a year and given to the company paying most. The money from the auction could then be used for something special like buying school books, feeding the poor or building social housing.

Almost every large American city has vast tracts of unutilized or underutilized land, usually located in proximity to very expensive, highly utilized land. Every city also has large and increasing numbers of homeless folk, and you can't help but notice that these two phenomena go hand in hand. Often, this land contains improvements, consisting mostly of abondoned and deteriorated residential and commercial structures, and is owned by the city, having been abondoned by its previous owners...

- 30 hour work week is standard. Jobs would offer both a 5AM to 11AM shift or a 1PM to 7PM shift. (Restaurants, bars would have different shifts.) - Traffic on roads reduced as there are half the commuters on road at same time (except at lunch time). - Families wouldn't need daycare. One worker in morning shift, other in evening. - Go-getters, renaissance people can manage having two full-time jobs in completely different fields. - Stores are open when you're not working. - Greater...

People can create a scheme where they can invest money that will be used to educate children till they are 25 years of age. After 25, these (children) should be made compulsory to return money to the scheme in installments with interest. This money will be given back to people in their old age till they die. In this way, we can educate each and every poor child in this world and let not old go hungry any more.

Some schools have already started this idea.... but it should be required by many more. Jr High and High School age kids should be required to do a certain number of community service hours per semester to pass. Donating their time to a cause (of their choice) would create more caring and aware citizens.
