Everyone is concerned with privacy today and especially with computer privacy. There are screens for sale that you can put over your laptop screen so that people sitting beside you cannot see your screen. My idea is similar to plugging in a special pair of glasses into an iPod or similar device and being able to watch a video, only for a computer. A specially designed pair of video glasses that could be USB supported, could be attached to your laptop computer. Upon attaching them,...

This is more of a software game design idea. I have had it for several years now and I know I am not going to get around to doing it so I am throwing it out there because I would love to see it done. You all know how they have golf video games that you can play against people online. What I think would be great is if they made a game where you can actually play against the real pros during a real tournament. Say the tournament starts on Thursday and you get up in the morning and...

How about a program that requires fingerprint identification using a USB encrypted scanner. It scans your fingerprint to allow you into the program instead of asking for a password. Can be portable and just plug it in as needed to get into a program.

OK the idea is this, people have found many ways of cooling down that hot CPU and some people have used it for positive ideas like makeing coffie of the heat from the cpu or keeping their food warm. Well what im wondering is why no one has taken the heat from the CPU and contained it so the computer stays cool while the contained heat is used to power the computer. Taking the heat from the CPU and turning it into energy that the computer can use instead of wasting all that energy that the...

Now that Digital Photography is so popular, how about a hand-held device for viewing your digital photos with a decent sized screen. Yes there are some devices that do that (like the Sony Clie), but they do not have very large screens and also have lots of other functions (unrelated to photography) that make the cost of the device rather high. How about a dedicated photo viewer (without all those other costly functions) with a 6" x 4" flat screen, with lots of memory space for the...

A mouse that is set to work on all sides, but only activates the commands on the side which is down at that time. A General All-Purpose Multi-Function Mouse. Use each side for what ever it is set up to control.

The idea is to create a optical storage device like CD using colors. The CD's used now are using laser to read the bits. If light is reflected back it is sensed as one otherwise zero. My idea is, instead of reflecting a plain light we can reflect a colored light and sense it. If we can represent 8 (2^3) colors at that point and sense it then we can store thrice the amount of a normal CD. And this storage capacity is directly proportional to the amount of color we reresent at a single...

A pendrive which has no memory on it, but when you plug it in, it connects via some network with assigned to it network share and presents this share to the host as if it was on the pendrive itself. In this way you can add networking capability to devices which have usb host socket accepting only memory devices. One can also make similar ata/firewire/sata and other devices.

How about adjusting the computer monitor display automatically subject to current environment conditions... But it may require frequent adjustments in times when there is no fixed weather.

Everyone has old tapes. It would be cool to be able to listen to them on the PC. A tape-rom, just like the CD-rom could be made and althought it could be used to easely copy music from the tape to the PC and then to a CD.
