Would like to see computer keyboards with illuminated keyboards. So if you're up by yourself or people watching TV in the dark you can see the keys. I know it's a simple idea. But it would be nice to see even if it was just used on them for decorations. Make it interesting and let the consumer or whoever choose the color they want. I dont know if this has been thought of or even tried but it might be pretty cool to see.

A scanner can be very useful. Especially as new technology makes scanners better, they come in very handy. But their are big and bulky. And if you have a laptop and you need to scan in documents on while on a 10 hours plane ride, forget it. I propose a laptop with a scanner built into the top of it. Help me out if you got any technical ideas to make this work, but it will be a flip top with a scanner underneath, that when scanned gets transfered directly to your hard drive. Makes life...

Many of internet users are well aware of the chatting programme ICQ. How about a dedicated ICQ device like a handheld PDA? SMS or Wap devices let people stay in touch on the road, but if there is a complete dedicated ICQ device is available, then I feel it would be the best for communication.

What if a mouse was invented that could take the shape of your hand? What I mean by that is, when purchasing your computer, you are asked to place your hand in some sort of gel that will take the shape of your hand. Computer chips are improving in terms of speed, but the trend now is not the speed, but in efficiency. Chipmakers are into dual core, quad core, for multi tasking. My idea is this: can someone build motherboards that will accomodate 2, 4 or maybe 8 cpu's (old but working chips). The same principle is applied on quad core cpu's (4 old cpu's in 1 mobo). In today's world computers use the binary system to interpret data and instructions. These are translated by compilers and programs as sequences of 0's and 1's according to agreed codes, and in this form the computer handles them, meaning 1's a pulse of electricity and 0's a lack of it (in fact a pulse with much lower voltage). How about a heated wrist mouse pad. You know those mouse pads with the soft wrist support pad on the edge? Well how about putting a little heater in there to make it warm. That way it relaxes your wrist as you use your mouse.

The idea is, as i'm sitting here using a wireless laptop i thought why hasn't anybody invented a laptop with mobile phone technology built in. Not one of these small palm computers but a full size laptop. Wireless internet access is the way forward for sure.
