Why don't they install line out jacks into every phone. It would make it easier to record phone calls. I have a small internet radio station and I have always wanted to have people phone in and make requests, but I am shocked at how long and complex the process for recording phone calls is with a normal phone. If we had a line out on the phone, one could just plug the phone into the line in on the computer and start recording.

It is now possible to use triangulation from base stations to determine the position of a mobile phone. A useful application of this would be to create 'no-phone' zones, where a signal could be sent to the mobile to switch it off when it is within a designated area. This could apply to theatres, hospitals, military bases: indeed any location where the user is instructed to switch their mobile off.

What if your mobile phone is not working and nothing to do with it but to turn it to trash? Would it be great if someone could invent a software/hardware device that would convert mobile phones as walky talky or fm radio or cordless phone (hardware plus software manipulation). walky talky or home wireless phone complete with different colored backlights with personalized logo and ringtones. Interface that allows appliances to connect to your smart cart bar code reader to automatically set oven temps., cooktimes, and display mixing instructions based on data from UPC codes. This would also keep track of items you use and create your shopping list for you. Which you could fax to your grocery store ahead of time and then you wouldn't need the smart cart.

I'm sure it's happened to all of us at one time or another: either you can't phone someone because their phone is off the hook, or you yourself have not replaced the receiver properly, and nobody can reach YOU! In North America, a loud tone sounds when this happens, but it only lasts for a couple of minutes. After that you could walk right past your phone and still not know that it was off the hook. Prototype: Make a laser on a tripod with the laser facing down. It scans an area below it with a class 3b laser (like a pen laser). I have an idea for an iPod or mp3 player which functions similiar to your favorite radio station. Your own songs would play but after a set number of songs an audio news flash would come up. You could predetermine what type of news (sports, national, etc) you would want. It could present a wide array of things including weather, concert updates, or any kind of interesting information. People listen to the radio to get news but are constantly bothered by the same songs played over and over...

Be able to power your lamps and other electrical things without a power cord. One main machine sends electricity harmlessly through the air, and whenever you turn something on that has a receiver, it pulls the electricity from the air. You never have to deal with cords again!
