I have an idea of taking the caller id on a phone and making a phonebook of the name and number. So that all you have to do is push a button, and save the name and number as it says on the id. And it is sent to a electronic phonebook built into the phone's memory. You can als delete and categorize the book.

We all know of answering machines in phones that read out a specific message for any call when we do not pick up the receiver for a few rings. I suggest an option to have customised answering based on who is calling. Example, if any of your relatives are calling when you are out on a tour, the message can be "I'm off to India. Will be back on 10th" while for others, you could just say "Pls leave ur number and I'll call back"

Have you seen those PC telephones, they're great, the only problem with them is that your PC must be turned on for you to answer calls. To solve this problem. Why not create a telephone hub, a small box that sits on your desk that is just a PC telephone, it stays on all the time instead of your computer and when theirs a call it rings to let you know. This is only really feasible with Cable, DSL etc permanent connections. Mind you PC phone calls cost $0, you can speak...

What if your mobile phone is not working and nothing to do with it but to turn it to trash? Would it be great if someone could invent a software/hardware device that would convert mobile phones as walky talky or fm radio or cordless phone (hardware plus software manipulation). walky talky or home wireless phone complete with different colored backlights with personalized logo and ringtones. JUST IMAGINE... WOW Its pretty cool right? And functional too. If theres something like it then lets...

Looking to create a secure environment in nursing home rooms for telephone fraud prevention without the necessity for remembering lengthy passwords or using calling cards with long numbers to dial. Perhaps a telephone that records the authenticated voice and stores in the unit. Then, no dial tone is given until the voice verification process authenticates the speaker using the telephone.

The present hands-free cables using for mobile phones may became twists on usage. Like head phones to walk-man. Everytime we need to unwind the twists. For this, if we can have built-in hands free in a circular box, which will be like measuring tapes (winds internally in a circular box). One side, the jack could be kept outside which plugs into the cell and the other side speakers. This compact like hands-free box could have facility to attach with mobile phone hand set or could carry...

Text condensing for text messaging. I've heard of predictive text for cell phones, this is kinda the reverse. I've often found myself running out of text space and going back and condensing/abreviating words to squeeze a couple more in. This wouldn't be a problem if there were more spaces available for text per message, OR, if there was a text condensing tool on my phone.

I am a mum to a large family. Out old address book is on it's last legs...again. Need an electronic one for phone numbers / addressess / birthdays and any other junk that people keep in there. Yes I know the PDA's or palm tops do the job but I don't need all that organisation (really!!) and they would not be suitable for the whole family to use, bit too whizzy for us. My mobile phone book is already full with numbers. Yes we have a PC but when all the kids aren't on it, I don't want to...
