Usually when I go to open a hood after an engine is running for around 30 minutes to an hour or more it's really hot. And I often burn my fingers trying to open the hood. I don't know if it's been invented yet but I would love it if someone would invent an automatic hood opener. And when I go to check the oil or transmission fluid, the plastic is burning hot. Maybe they could make something that doesn't absorb so much heat so you can grab it without burning yourself.

Has this been done? Seems like a pretty obvious idea so I guess it has, but been thinking of this for years and never seen it yet. Seems like a real good usp for a SAAB or Volvo. A light which is off the shelf to buy, battery powered, retails for around £30 and without tampering with the cars machanics at all will alert drivers behind of the proportional amount of breaking and de-acceleration. Perhaps a system of LED'S or amount of light intensity. Any comments??

A sun visor for the back seat "drivers." A way for the riders in the back seat to block the sun with their "own" visors.

Instead of developing cars which depend on massive gasoline burning engines with very small batteries, create a small car with a powerful battery charged by a very efficient infernal combustion engine to charge the large battery. Surely a small engine could charge the battery sufficiently to do commuter trips every day.

Main features: * 2-3 kitesurfing type sails * 2 catamaran hulls * hydrofoils under both ends of each catamaran hull * some kind of deck to hold passengers and cargo Details: * the kitesails would be staggered from front to farther back (exact locations need to be worked out) * the angle of attack of the sets of hydrofoil blades on each corner would need to be controllable to facilitate the boat rising out of the water for less drag but not getting tipped over by gusts of wind *...

You always hear people saying, "In the future there will be flying cars!!" Well I think that idea is ridiculous. Why re-invent a flying machine when it would be much more simple to make a planes street legal. We already have compact airplanes with the ability to fold the wings making them more compact.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone could produce a Portable Shopping Cart on the lines of a Twin Stroller. As a parent I sometimes find it frustrating loading the kids into the car and unloading the cart, then having to leave the cart at your parking spot, which is a big pet peeve of mine. It is also hard to find a cart that has a dry kid seat when it is raining.

The start of an airplane consumes a lot of energy and is very stressful to the tires. An airplane could be started (and landed) sitting on a magnetic driven carrier which is accelerated by a linear motor installed in the runway. This method will save fuel, tires and reduces noise at airfields dramatically.

I do like the idea of Tunnel Taxi and really want to share with you. Tunnel Taxi is designed for solving problems with traffic. It's a split bus style taxi with a pair of seats on each side that exit into a central tunnel. That central tunnel is there to allow people that ride bikes around the city to pass in the middle of the taxi without having to change lanes.

Why not create a dual-cable lever for bicycles to allow riders with one hand to control the front and rear brakes on mountain and cyclocross bikes. The lever will be adjusted to engage both brakes at the same time or one a bit after the other. There will also be the option either to place the lever on the left or right side of the handlebar.
