The skies will get a bit safer for birds with the wind turbine, which will use no blades at all. The turbine will capture up to 80 percent of the wind's kinetic energy (current turbines only capture about 30 percent). Instead of spinning blades, the wind will be harnessed by a sail that will move in a non-rotational back and forth motion. The cancer-detecting bra will monitor body heat to help identify tumors at the early stages--allowing for prompt treatment and a higher survival rate. Developed to work as a supplement to conventional screening methods, the bra will be equipped with sensors to monitor heat patterns in breast tissue over a 2 to 12 hour period. This data will then be transmitted to a computer, which will analyze the patterns to determine if any early tumors are beginning to form.

A park bench that will allow the user to rotate to a dry seat will make it a bit more pleasant to enjoy a seat after a rain shower. The bench, designed for cities with frequent but sporadic rain showers, will be equipped with long, narrow panels that fit together to form the bench's seat. A crank attached to the panels will allow them to be rotated to reveal a dry sitting surface on top while the wet panels are rotated to the bottom of the seat.
