My idea is to create lamps that will alter their lighting intensity to match the natural light cycles the day and night. The individual lamps will be set to follow the rhythms of either the sun or the moon. The Night Lamp will emit a gentle bluish light that will be synced to the lunar calendar, shining brightest during the full moon. The Day Lamp will gradually increase its light as it gets darker outside, and will lower its light as the sun shines more brightly. Both lamps...

Why not create a trash bin which will consist of several disposable and recycled paper containers nested inside one another? This will eliminate the need for plastic can liners. Such a bin would be the ideal choice for disposing of paper products, since the contents and bag could all be recycled together. It would also be suitable for dry biodegradable materials, and could be used in compost bins.

The idea is to create vibrating belts which will make it possible for soldiers to follow directions and find their way through the darkness. The belt will contain eight mini actuators that will represent the eight cardinal directions. A GPS system, compass, and accelerometer will be able to track the direction a soldier moves, and provide a gentle, vibratory nudge to help keep him on the correct path.

The idea is to create a palm sized hearing device that will include an array of noise management systems but will look like a common mp3 player. The device will be easy to use, featuring an LCD screen and headphones with integrated microphones. It will include noise reduction and will be able to control feedback and wind noise. The device will also include a special function that will adjust to the changing environments of standard, music, indoors, and party.

The vibrating suit will provide haptic feedback to help athletes develop muscle memory. The suit will use an array of vibrating motors to send feedback to the user as to their body's position in space. The motors will signal in real time when the athlete is outside the desired range, and the data will be also recorded for later study.

If you are a person who travels a lot you know that it can be very tiresome to wait for the flight. Many flights depart with a delay; among charters the value of delays reaches 50%. If you wait for the flight in the check-in area you have to stand as there are no vacant seats there. Your legs and back begin to ache after standing for a long time. I can provide you with a solution to this problem. A suitcase with a folding seat of a Sitting Pretty series (Walkin'Bag trademark) are more...

If puncture happens and you don't have a rubber adhesive, bend a tire tube near the damaged area, bind tightly with a strong thread and then inflate the tire. With such an inner tube you can get home and perform a more thorough repairing. If the puncture is very big, take up the inner tube at all and fill in the tire with hay, grass, leaves, etc. With such a tire you can ride 25-30 miles. As you see, both of these advices are for the extreme cases.

Happy clients result in new clients. This axiom was literally used as a basis for a new advertising campaign by LEO BURNETT ad agency. Creative Italian advertisers put unusual billboards with real people on them all over Milan. The idea is as follows: ordinary people (potential customers) ask and happy (real) customers answer. There are no lure, intrigue or deception... just an honest dialogue. Creators of such an unusual interactive advertising campaign actually asked real...

Recently, watching a bank robbery movie I got an idea that I'm sure will be useful for improvement of all kind of safes either huge walk in banking safes or small personal safes. I would set the safe to open with two or more secret combinations where only one is the real combination which just opens the safe. Other combinations would open the safe too but along with that they would automatically trigger the alarm system. For small models we can integrate a simple wireless card which in...

Why not develop a personalized onboard system to monitor chronic disease and personal wellness? The new system will be designed to react to simple voice commands, and will be able to deliver information on environmental aspects affecting allergies or monitor the blood sugar of diabetics through wireless glucose monitors. The system will also recommend alternative routes, suggest a snack, or roll up the windows in case of smog.
